Best lyrics ever
I love you Fiyero.
Dancing through life
Skimming the surface
Gliding where turf is smooth
Life's more painless
For the brainless
Why think too hard?
When it's so soothing
Dancing through life
No need to tough it
When you can sluff it off as I do
Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life so keep dancing through
Dancing through life
Swaying and sweeping
And always keeping cool
Life is fraughtless
When you're thoughtless
Those who don't try never look foolish
Dancing through life
Mindless and careless
Make sure you're where less trouble is rife
Woes are fleeting
Blows are glancing
When you're dancing through life
Dancing through life
Skimming the surface
Gliding where turf is smooth
Life's more painless
For the brainless
Why think too hard?
When it's so soothing
Dancing through life
No need to tough it
When you can sluff it off as I do
Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life so keep dancing through
Dancing through life
Swaying and sweeping
And always keeping cool
Life is fraughtless
When you're thoughtless
Those who don't try never look foolish
Dancing through life
Mindless and careless
Make sure you're where less trouble is rife
Woes are fleeting
Blows are glancing
When you're dancing through life

Deet
If Vanessa Hudgens used the Wave around her mouth, she'd look and sound like she's shaving. Her beard. Or stubble.

Hi
Block tests are stupid.
I am going to fail chemistry because I can't remember how to do calculations for redox.
I am going to fail math because I didn't really pay attention when the teacher was going through probability and remainder & factor theorem.
NO NO NO MUST NOT FAIL. Maybe I should actually hit the library to study and get some Dilmah lychee tea. (Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can buy those wonderful tea bags? I CANNOT FIND MY DILMAH LYCHEE TEA. Only found apple, pineapple and passion fruit tea. WHYYY)
Okay I am very dizzy.
---
Heh I am not "ellie" on http://www.chinese-orchestra.com/ ._. (free advertising... but it's the only Singapore CO portal anyway)
(Walao he/she/it is old enough to be "not in CO anymore" I AM STILL YOUNG >_>) (Ok no offence if you're "ellie". Eek.)
Yeah, so. Whatever he/she/it says is like, not by me. My username is a lot more stupid (and I don't post on forums).
Anyway, my opinion on the website...
It's quite nice that someone finally created an online platform for CO members all over Singapore. But this website has unfortunately been abused by its users.
Let's cut to the chase. Dear users of CO@SG, PLEASE STOP DEBATING WHETHER TEMASEK/EVERGREEN/ANY OTHER SCHOOL DESERVED GOLD WITH HONOURS OR WHATEVER AWARD THEY GOT.
1) Judges' decision is professional.
2) Judges' decision is final. Complaining doesn't work.
3) SYF is over.
4) Be happier people and talk about more interesting things.
If you really understand the rationale of SYF, it doesn't matter who got what award. Isn't it ironic that people go "it's all about the process, not the prize" then go on some forum to anonymously comment and rave about how "unfair" the results were? If you're good, you're good. If you don't make the cut, sorry, try again.
What's wrong with failing? If you haven't failed, you wouldn't know what success is. NYCO wasn't established a GWH orchestra either. Behind each success is a long story of sheer hard work.
The judges all have no reason to be biased to anyone. They are professional musicians. "Kelong"? Oh, whatever. Do you think any Singaporean is bold enough to even have the intention of "bribing" the judges in any way? What would the judges have to gain from being unfair? And would all FIVE judges be biased unanimously?
Please use the forum for less antagonistic topics. If I am not wrong the website was meant to gather "CO lovers" in one place.
I fear that after the whole SYF saga blows off, this website will become significantly less active. /:

NYCO: 超强!
NYCO GOT GOLD WITH HONOURS :D
After 6 tiring, stressful but also joyful months, we finally did it!
Whoo I'm so proud of NYCO.
Haha everyone totally screamed/cried when they announced the results. I realised that without fail, every NYCO SYF team has reacted so strongly (and somewhat violently haha) to GWH. Because we've never been 100% confident about GWH. There was always that bit of doubt, the "what if". But that drove us to work even harder, and deserve the award even more!
NYCO, you did Mrs Ee, our teachers, our instructors and our seniors proud! THANK YOU 南中华乐!

SING
Haha I'm turning people into theatre geeks and sticker freaks (Tong Zhen gave me this SUPER cute squishy alligator sticker).
Every day feels surreal. I'm busking in triviality.
---
SYF IN 5 DAYS!!!
Practices have been rather fulfilling, but still... the reality of its approach murders sleep.
Must not get injured or fall ill. Maybe I shall miss my fencing lesson for the 3rd consecutive week (though I already feel unfit and goopy).
Facebook is such. a. bore.
Valentia and I are actually going to bust $81 each (on great seats) to watch Sing Dollar, hahaha. Looks pretty slapstick to me but the cast is pretty awesome, so it couldn't be too bad.

IKEA
IKEA never fails to produce some of my favourite advertisements.
Remember the one with a mob crashing a guy's house asking, "东西在哪里,快拿出来" and the guy going "我不知道,我真的不知道", while it is revealed his house is a worse mess than my room (that speaks ten billion words)? What a classic. Unfortunately it is nowhere on the internet, so I can't put it up here. How exhasperating!
Anyway, it was quite funny to recall it because so many people are like that poor confused chap in real life. Not in terms of getting the right storage solutions of course. Just the blankness in their pretty little heads when you ask them a question.

Floppy, soft, ungelled hair is nicer than gelled hair!

P.S. You're not even like, clever?
I love W!LD RICE :D
FOH at Earnest was a blast. (Saw a lot of JC people yesterday, plus Jennifer and suspected-lesbos Ayla and Emily haha!) The lady from the cafe outside the theatre (Makarios I think) is nice (: And their lychee tea (in a pot) is heavenly. Therapeutic stuff. It smells and tastes like... lychee. Without the bitter-ish taste that the real fruit tends to have.
Finally going to catch the show tomorrow with Valentia! Excited! The post-show talk yesterday was interesting, learning about the concepts and considerations during the production of the show and all.
Up next is Own Time Own Target and Beauty and The Beast. Haha.

RICE!
Days can be depressing,
but in the weary times of confinement, restriction, pain, recession and demoralisation, W!LD RICE will spice up your life!
The post-show discussion was quite interesting. (Chua Enlai's boisterous laughter is super funny.)

Ha, ha
Dear Friend (if I still am one to you),
I am sorry about your blog and your angst.
And entertaining as it will be, I will not start an online war.
Love,
Me

NYCO: 强!
20 days!
Go NYCO, we can do it :D
Personal note: Must be inspired by the annoying cicadas living in the mini-forests surrounding my house. Must practice brand new timpani pedalling on angsty timpani! Or continue to practice switching drums like a flying monkey.
练练练练练练练练练练练练练练练

Ahh tons of thanks to those who've been super encouraging and supportive and nice!
Dora Ang and Pamela made this super cute cute cute card with a Dora sticker inside haha :D :D Shall aspire to be as happy as you two (with the mini water spray) haha.
