CUTE. FUNNY. CUTE. FUNNY.

HAHA don't mind my sudden admiration for voice actors. I think Kevin Clash (Elmo's voice) is amazing, his voice is so different from Elmo's! And I think Elmo's choice of humour is GREAT. Hoooo!

Great job, me

I can't draw wood, for goodness' sake.

Argh the days have been extra unproductive.

CNYCNYCNY please come soon!

Oh man, I read in 8 Days that one pineapple tart = 90 calories = 1/2 hour on the treadmill! O___O

"Stressed up. I shall comfort myself with pineapple tarts. Shit no! They make me fat! Must.. resist.. temptation..... Stressed........ UP..............."

吐血

I wonder why humans who have absolutely no self-awareness exist.

If you want to gain respect, EARN IT.
If you want to prove a point, USE PROPER EVIDENCE.
If you want to criticise, SHOW ME WHAT'S GOOD.
If you want to complain, GIVE AN ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION.
If you want to question others, FIND OUT WHO'S THE REAL AUTHORITY FIRST.

People who sit there and whine and do nothing constructive of considerable help are dumb.

plain scary

Ever had one of those freaky coincidences where you think/dream about something and it happens?

Well Miss Phang wants me to document one of the incidences I had.

So yesterday I went to the SCO concert (Rhapsodies of Spring) and after it ended I went to the washroom. And I was thinking (while queueing) that it would be scary to see my instructors, who both performed that night, since I didn't tell them I'd be watching. And lo and behold, just as my train of thoughts ended, one of them came out of the toilet. Which one, I will not say.

Oh and Miss Phang has been called "silly" three times already. Lovely! (:

Amusement

Talking about time travel at 1.30 am.

I hereby declare that anyone who watches Heroes will be upgraded by one level of coolness!

Chew Fei is a "silly little girl". (:

School is boring. (I wonder how many times I've said this)

All the work we've been assigned so far is so... un-useful. There's hardly anything to learn. The only thing to look forward to is CCA, but it's always interrupted by stuff. ):

Well on the bright side the section got our snare drumsticks today! Super fast. Oh man now I owe so much money. Self-note: Must clear all debts. Must clear all debts before CNY. Call me superstitious. I think it's a wonderful word. (FYI, I hate owing people money. It's like you owe him/her/it your life and you can't look them in the eye.)

Tags replies (so I don't flood my own board):

rachel Hoho naughty (: But THE WOMAN is really... woman-ly. .___.
Chewa Yuck. Well I'm changing the colours soon, getting bored of yellow/orange anyway. CNY! S:
cherie Woah you all went so early! We're going only in March! Well anyway see you on CNY eve (:
wendy HAHA verbal diarrhoea. Yay the new sticks are cool, but the conga sticks smell. Badly.
lien Aiyo stop thinking about THE WOMAN! Eew.
Jade Woah for us OBS Sabah's optional. There's other options for some global classroom programme thing like NZ or something. And don't get too dark, you're already very dark. Later cannot recognise you :D
valentia YATTA! Man we missed J. Fox. Sad.
yh Heh she just started watching so yeah.

"I will let the 2-minute-late people off, but those 3 minute one ah really cannot, VERY late."

Looking at the timetable. 4 hours of humanities tomorrow (if you include languages, that is). An hour of math. A day of boredom.

Wait, no! Let's stay positive! I feel physically, mentally and spiritually revitalised. Say it with me people, hoooosa.

Ah and the teachers got pretty agitated about this gym petition thing because the girls added some "false information". Seems they're getting everyone to sign the petition to protest against "the cessation of the Gymnastics CCA Programme". I wouldn't say "cessation" is an appropriate word to use here (adds the dramatic factor though) but ah well, they probably right-clicked and used the thesaurus in MS Word.

It's like how you say "I washed the clothes" but not "I cleansed/purified the clothes" or "I decontaminated the clothes" or worse, "I sanitised the clothes".

Well I don't blame them for wanting to keep their CCA alive, but getting the support of others wouldn't be really effective, would it? Why would the school consider the opinions of those who don't have a clue/aren't even involved in gym?

Valentia and I wanted to watch this cello concert because 1) there was J. Fox and 2) the guy was playing Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G major (okay skip the frills, it's just the song you hear in the Taiwan tourism promotion ad with Jolin Tsai). But it's late and the rest of the programme's not really interesting. And J. Fox's playing only in the last song. Loopholes are the pits.

Blogging at 1.30 am because I slept for almost 3 hours after dinner. Marvellous me.

Sectionals are badbadbad. We have less than 3 weeks left! Or rather, I have less than 3 weeks left. Must practice with ferventness! Have some flair! Yay gogogo.

Outbursts of random muttering.

Greek Masterpieces from the Louvre

Woah I must say that the museum trip was one truly refreshing experience.

The newly renovated National Museum of Singapore looks pretty cool! And it's even more awesome that they're displaying works from the Louvre (yes, that super-famous musuem in Paris that a certain Dan Brown talked about in his novel.)

They're mostly sculptures, vases or weird stone tablets. Overall the exhibition's generally pretty good. Oh and they provided foldable chairs for people to sit on as they sketched! :D Bonus point: All Nanyang students get free admission, the school's some member of who-knows-what. Go if you have free time!

Sadly we were supposed to make 2 drawings but I didn't even complete one. I was sketching Venus. There was this passer-by lady who praised me and I was like :D:D:D so flattered. Heh. I haven't even touched my piece of charcoal ._.

After that went to Bugis for dinner. Pepper Lunch is nice o: Yes I know it's been invading Singapore's shopping malls since 2006 but I am the kind who wants to try stuff but ends up being too lazy to.

Got a nice BIG F6-sized green sketchbook that would last me long (I hope). Went home afters, sat in front of the computer and typed this post. Well toodles.

P.S. The Chinese teacher's favourite phrase is 有没有.

Things I really DON'T understand

Today I shall once again mock the lives of teenyboppers.

There's a lot of random things that I know about. I know that 马英九is winning by a landslide. I know that Bart Simpson is allergic to shrimp (Prawn, whatever you call it. Tomato Tomahto.) and heck, I even know what ActionScript 3.0 is. (Actually, it's just the platform you use on Flash. Aha.)

BUT I do not understand these random strings of words that girls enjoy putting together. Believe me, these are the most fortuitous phrases you will ever read (ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE REAL EXAMPLES TAKEN OFF MSN NICKNAMES):

1) Lovestruck voodoo dolls and a shimmering disco ball
2) ragdolls&carousels
3) acid tears and medicine (from same person as 2)
4) &let love spin you round and round
5) rusticDREAMS

.............. Seriously.

SERIOUSLY.

I don't see how dolls are related to disco balls OR carousels. Okay fine, maybe you buy a ragdoll at a fair... that has carousels. Whatever. Then explain 'acid tears and medicine'. What, you're crying hydrochloric acid (which by the way is found in your stomach. ... nevermind.) as you swallow your antibiotics? #4 waltzes/cha-chas/discos with love. Hmm, interesting. I wonder if love sits next to you in class too. And #5 is the most ridiculous. How in the world can DREAMS be RUSTIC? Excuse me while I slap my forehead 5 times.

---

A. Lit today was extremely slack-y. We didn't do anything except watch Johnny English (:D). Rowan Atkinson is hilarious I tell you. A Modest Proposal (by Jonathan Swift) looks plain silly and boring.

General Art students are going to the National Museum of Singapore tomorrow to view the Greek exhibition thing. I can't say I'm excited but it beats sitting in the classroom for 2 hours staring at/drawing kettles and dolls and wooden masks. ._.

Well Chinese New Year's coming in 3 weeks. I'll go back to TNS and see if the teachers have donned yet another hairstyle.

"I'm a woman. Phenomenon. Phenomenal woman. That's me."

No, that's not by me. It's part of this weird poem that the teachers were reading during LA lecture today to show what's the "good" and "bad" way to read. Mrs Sim was extremely funny. 5 stars, whoo. "Mys-TEr-ry."

Doing Maths research project on Nash's Theorem. Sounds and looks pretty deep. Oh for LA our group's organising a camp for little kiddies. How exciting. Muahaha.

Blah. I don't want/plan to do homework. Pat me on the back. (:

Ahh mandarins (yes those tiny ones) and Geylang Serai's putu piring are WONDERFUL. Sweet tooth sweet tooth! Oh and now there's Milo mocha ._. Milo + milk + coffee powder. Sounds interesting. Wanted to buy but we already have a lot of Milo at home so yeah. Maybe next time.

"Waddle, you silly duck. Waddle."

"bahbahbah"

Drenched. Chew Fei, Cassandra, Wendy and I went to KAP after school today for dinner and my books got wet! D: Oh well. The chatting was funny. 3 weeks to section CNY party! Hoo exciting.

Oh we have 4 practices left before the CNY concert. DEAD. I hope the hall's poor acoustics make it somehow sound super good. Fat hope, me.

Sheesh I'm supposed to fill in the online class list for NYAA and my teacher hasn't emailed. I don't want to do work on weekends! Oh wait it's already Saturday morning. Crap.

Zzz.

I'll write a long post one day. One day.

$

ATTENTION 309! IT'S TIME TO DIG OUT OUR DUST-LADEN CNY DECORATIONS! LET'S START EARLYYY! AND WHO WANTS TO VOLUNTEER TO DECORATE THE NOTICE BOARD?

Okay I don't think anyone from my class will read/care, but still. (:

Ah 309's been pretty nice so far. I wouldn't say we're super extroverted, but it's still different from 209. 209 was (sometimes) quiet in front of teachers and crazy behind closed doors.

Sectionals were hilarious. ET was damn funny during 秦王点兵, (quotes JOY AKA MOLEY) "pretending to be gay" and all. Then the section ordered snare sticks from US! Not available in Singapore :D Then when someone asked about the price he said "if they cost more than S$20 I'll pay the rest" so Shawn asked everyone to buy the expensive ones ._. But still, that's really generous. Or maybe just filthy rich of him. Ordered my practice pad yay.

Argh must brush up on basics. Maybe kayaking will help get rid of those flabby arms. Need muscles.

Okay I need some shut-eye. Zoing.

Art is insane.

We were supposed to draw 25 drawings of this bunch of objects on the tables.

In 2 hours.

Of course I didn't manage. A measly 11 was all I could churn out. The objects were all in a way hard to draw, and some were super detailed. And the whole year's going to be either drawing, painting or 3D. No photography. No IT! No blingblang interesting stuff! The worse part is, practically the whole class can draw super well and I can't. I'm starting to doubt my choice now. /: Oh well, Mrs Tan seems like a nice lady. And Mr. Lim KB had this funny shocked expression when he saw me there, hah.

I should be doing my homework. And my Commonwealth essay is screwed big time.

Hoo and 小组's tommorow! TGIT people.

HAPPYYY.

with my new Kensington wireless mouse!

My first (relatively) expensive mouse. I can throw that cheap and incredulously tiny and unergonomic corded terror aside now. I... I feel so... empowered! HA.

:D. Ultra thin.

Arh I can't get the practice pad yet because Yamaha has no stock. Now I (still) can't practice! Eggcellent.

sugar high

Goodness, I can't keep my fingers off sweet snacks.

First it's Hanuta (bought from Germany but it's available in Candy Empire-- at a higher price).

Chocolate and nuts sandwich. So good.

Then it's Khong Guan's Lemon Puff biscuits. The cream's not too sweet and doesn't really tast like lemon, you can smell it though. (:

Finally it's HAPPY HIPPO! Delicious stuff. Rachel gave me a box of this today, with an incredibly cute duck keychain. I have the sweetest mortal in the world (pun not intended)!

The packaging looks slightly different from this but I got this off the net so... yeah.

Oh and I finally got my copy of the coffee table book. The photos are great, but some aren't really up to standard. Maybe they were taken by another photographer.

And NYAA sounds time-consuming. I'm thinking of either photography or percussion for skills development and kayaking for physical recreation. Anyone interested?

Pain is to neck whereas math is to me.

I'm not even done with half the assignment.
I just recovered from fever yesterday.
I couldn't sleep for the past 2 nights because my back was killing me and I had to flip around like some sardine every 5 minutes.
I am semi-demoralised (?) from being pwned by Japanese Taiko drummers.

Okay let's be silly and compare body temperature records! Mine's 40.9 degrees Celcius. That one happened pretty long ago, in P5 or P6. I missed school for more than a week because I had a fever immediately after surviving gastric flu. One of the guys told me, "Wow you're back I nearly forgot how you looked like." Glorious. (:

P.S. It's 3 am and I'm restless, excellent! Well I'm highlighting scores now, and figuring how to count the big bunch of troublesome random notes in the beginning of 太阳in quavers. Someone just showed me a very freaky/cool video. At 3 am.

MY BACK HURTS.

I don't know why.

On a side note, nothing stupid happened but my semiquavers were super uneven and I got tired before the most important part of the piece ): Overall the standard's "pretty good for a performance", as Mrs Ee said.

We had this interaction with the Taiko drummers, and they asked us to stand with our legs really far apart. Very, very awkward. Drumming is fun though.

Argh I think I'm falling ill. Let's hope I recover by Saturday.

Pre-performance blues

龙腾虎跃TOMORROW!

Once again, "AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH."

Tuesday, January 01, 2008

"Nooo!"

School starts tomorrow.

Yes, I know, life is mean and cruel and horrible.

The performance is in 2 days. The CCA concert is the day after.

I'm more worried about 龙腾 though ._. I really don't want anything stupid to happen in front of these professional drummers. If not I will dig a hole on the auditorium stage and make a very unsuccessful attempt to hide.
