!!!
I must watch this!
I really really must or I'll regret it and get moody and volatile.
Look who's the director! And the cast! (陈瑞彪hahahaha)
Don't ask me why I like theatre. Or musicals. I just do, especially local ones (Forbidden City's not really 100% local though I quite like it too)!
Anyways, I shall save up! (: Still deciding whether to go before or after a certain important event though. Something ultra significant to YQP, yes? :D (Meh, I don't mean to be a wet blanket but as of now we're screwed. 要全力以赴!)
4 out of 11 papers down. 15 October is Liberation Day!
Meanwhile I shall disappear from the blogosphere. And hopefully MOBTV too.
(Grr to join or not to join the "elite" programme"? 5 hours a week!)

BOOM!
Today, I finally managed to catch local theatre production Boom (:
It truly is an extremely appreciable work. Bound together by a solid theme, compelling storyline and a stellar cast, Boom has portrayed a strong conceptual image of the en bloc fever. It is a display of Jean Tay's success in capturing most of (if not all) the Singaporean personality in a hearty yet subtle manner.
Perhaps some may comment that it's the type of play only Singaporeans would wholly understand, with its strong cultural references, use of dialects and all. But this is what makes it representative of our culture. I'm quite certain that if we were to watch a social commentary in a country of a different culture, we'd catch no ball.
And I must say that there were many refreshing elements to the play, especially at the very beginning (the most charming opening). Two seemingly different storylines were cleanly seamed to end as one, though I felt it was a slight pity as the all-important revelation (and climax?) came in quite late.
Nevertheless, the cast, albeit small, managed to pull it off quite impressively! Chua Enlai was hilarious and I'm quite a fan of Sebastian Tan now haha (he has a really good voice!).
Boom ends tomorrow, and if I had the money I'd catch it again (for Sebastian Tan and Chua Enlai! Heeee). Unfortunately my wallet cannot accomodate, and those putrid exams are here so... ):
Still, an eventful night spent! (:

Yay we got distinction for our percussion exams! :D Hahaha Valentia "3 musketeers"!

Riddle
"If you've got it you can't share it, if you've shared it you haven't got it."
Secrets are incredibly scary, and these few days have humbled me so much.
But words are nice anyway (:

309's first haul
We won the inter-class debates :D Champion team! Yay 309's very first achievement ever!
Thanks to Jennifer, Rania, Stella, Xijing and Jessica Lee, our egoistic coach (: Haha a certain teacher owes us Mars Bars ice-cream because he bet we wouldn't win.
It was a good debate nevertheless. 314 had great style and form. And it was a close one, 3 votes to 2. Good job everyone (:

Food for Thought
Sometimes,
when you know something controversial
(that the then-annoying and now-superficial, is purely a fallacy,
but nonetheless ongoing and believed)
do you feel sad or disbelief?
Or simply pity?
And for whom?
Audience, or clown?
(Ignore if found silly.)

MAF
What can I say? MAF was, in my opinion, a success (:
I hope all of the participants enjoyed themselves, and I'm sure that the organising committee had loads of fun planning the event. Many thanks to HCICO and my fellow NYCO members for being great sports!
Perhaps some aspects weren't planned very well and some circumstances unforseen (that I must admit). But we at least managed to compensate with a entertaining (?) committee item! (: On a side note, kudos to the student conductors, Yan Liang and Queenie for their efforts! I'd say that both pieces worked out rather well, considering the little practice time we had and how the orchestra wasn't too cooperative at some times!
Thanks to HCICO and NYCO committees for making MAF possible! (: I'm sure this partnership has left us with wonderful experiences and newly-forged friendships. Admit it or not, I'm sure you people wouldn't mind working together again! (Especially you, Cassandra! :D Muahaha!)

I foresee a hiatus! I foresee studying! Grah!
